Port Switch on the North Sea

12.10.2021

Stena Line announces that following the increased market demand of unaccompanied freight has led to a requirement for additional terminal capacity for our North Sea Ro-Ro route Europoort-Killingholme. To meet the customers’ demand an expansion of the terminal capacity on the service on the Humber is required. As this is impossible in the current port location in Killingholme Stena Line have therefore decided to move their Europoort Ro-Ro service from Killingholme to the nearby Port of Immingham commencing 1 January 2022. This step means that Stea Line will be able to offer the increased terminal capacity required and be a service provider of both terminals and shipping operations to our freight customers.

The move of the Europoort service Ro-Ro to Immingham will not cause any delays or cancellations of the services for our customers. The Europoort Ro-Ro service is currently operated by POL Maris and Hatche.

Route Hoek van Holland-Killingholme will remain and continue in Killingholme. This route is operated by Stena Transit and Stena Transporter.
